INTRO ISSUE #004 VISION

Vision, visualization, visor - where is my vision? I still had it just the other day; I must have misplaced it somewhere. “Videre” is the root I’m looking for—Latin for “to see.” While vision takes place in my imagination, focusing on forward-looking ideas, the visor is my tool for seeing more clearly. The visor is my pair of glasses; without them, everything looks blurry. Vision, visor, visualization is my “veni, vidi, vici.” I feel, focus, and see. Visualize your vision, become your vision, become one with the voracious visions of our future.
Let’s talk about this year—a magical year, an emotional year. It is the Year of the Fire Horse and Year 1 in numerology. To bring you up to speed: Numerology deals with the meaning of numbers. 2025 was the last year in the 9-year cycle. 2+0+2+5= 9. That means it was a year of harvest, of closure, and of letting go. In the Chinese zodiac, 2025 was the Year of the Snake. That, too, symbolizes shedding old skin, bringing things to a close, and ending and leaving behind burdens that have weighed on you for a long time.
We are now in Year 1 of the 9-year cycle. 2+0+2+6=10=1+0=1. Year 1. The Year of Seeding. This year is all about visions. It’s about planting your seeds for the next 8–9 years. Take your first steps, visualize your future, listen to your inner voice, and consider which path you want to take. Don’t be greedy—be patient. This year is about laying a foundation, not necessarily about achieving big results. Start with yourself. Ask yourself: Where am I right now? What fulfills me? What frustrates me? How do I talk to myself? And what are the things I’ve wanted to change for so long? How often do I actively listen to my inner self and check in with my emotional state?
Honesty with yourself is the first and most important step in building your foundation. And don’t rush. This isn’t a process you should rush through. Live slowly and thoughtfully. With everything happening in the world right now—conflict, intrigue, uncertainty, and mistrust—it’s up to you and those around you to keep the light within you alive. It’s like Calcifer in Studio Ghibli’s Howl’s Moving Castle. The fire that keeps the shop running. Sometimes it’s bigger and stronger; other times it’s smaller and weaker. You need to pay attention to that and do everything you can to reignite your fire. What you can do to achieve this is very personal. The important thing is to listen to yourself and your needs.
In this issue, we talked to all of our interviewees about vision. Sometimes it was the vision for an album, sometimes the vision of a superstar that had already come true somehow, and sometimes it was routine, romance, and rock ’n’ roll. They all had one thing in common: it always came from the heart. Coupled with intuition or big dreams, this question always brought out something emotional. For me, “vision” is an emotional concept as well. It’s not simply “just” a dream or an idea—it’s an epiphany. Something that comes from deep within you, something you visualize in both your conscious and subconscious mind, and something that inspires and motivates you to remain focused. Vision doesn’t automatically mean success or material wealth. Vision means fulfilling a deep-seated wish of your heart, a longing. And here, it’s up to you, the readers, to take a good look at yourselves and ask: What is my vision, really? What will make me happy in the future? Where do I belong, and in what kind of environment can I—as Sarah4k so beautifully put it—spread my wings? And vice versa. Maybe you’ll also realize that you’re in an environment that holds you back, limits you, or restrains you—one that doesn’t believe in you or sows doubt in your mind. You need to break free from that environment. So listen to yourself—listen to your gut and your heart.
I believe that with everything you question, deep down you already know the answer: you don’t need to doubt, because you already know. You just have to listen closely. Take yourselves out on a date, do what you want for a change—what you’d do if no one was watching—and think about what your vision is. I’m excited to share what we discussed with all the amazing people featured in this issue. We shared a lot of personal stories, shared a lot of love, and shot some extremely inspiring editorials.
